Joyful Times Back Home As Teenagers Causing Ruckus
IJmuiden - the industrial steel town of Holland where I grew up and enjoyed causing ruckus with my friends.
Hanging around the Kennermerlaan during the evenings was pretty much the only fun thing to do in my hometown.
We used to cruise the Lange Nieuw straat by night looking for trouble. It truly sucks that I lost my footage from our scooter and cita trips. Some notable moments were the events at the Kennermerboulevard, losing an exhaust at full speed, wheelies and almost getting involved into a fight by driving on the wrong side of the bicycle lane.
We usually just hangout at my room during the weekends playing videogames such as Duke Nukem, Red Alert, Turok and Counterstrike.
During the summer we produced 2 full CD's of prank calls which we labeled "HAMG". They are absolutely hilarious but only if you know the Dutch language.
At night times during the weekend we usually partied at the Seasons which was popular local club in IJmuiden.
Another popular club was 'De Lantaarn'. Where I got introduced to the borrow-bicycle concept.
The borrow-bicycle is basically a bike you ride to the club and park somewhere but don't lock it, so anyone can take it home who will again take it back to the club the week after. The only problem with this concept is a first come first serve situation.
Nowadays I wish I had spent a little bit more time outdoors instead of tirelessly behind the computer screen. Most of the photos in this blog post were used for a digital school project. In that project I had to use mugshots of my friends. The project was called 'Het Ikke Project' which I created with Macromedia Director MX and Lingo.
