Shibuya is definitely my favorite district in Tokyo. In my opinion it is the fashion capital of the world. I took the metro from Shinjuku Station which is only a few minutes away.

Shibuya is known for its popular scrambled crossing. It is located in front of the Shibuya Station and stops vehicles in all directions to allow pedestrians to inundate the entire intersection. Three massive LCD screens mounted on closeby buildings overlook the crossing.

I wanted to find the rooftop soccer field near Shibuya Station, this soccer field is used during a night scene in the popular movie; "Fast & Furious - Tokyo Drift" where a bunch of kids play soccer. I zoomed in with Google Maps on my laptop and found the location. I was surprised how easy it was to get to this roof top since the field is rented out on an hourly basis to local amateur soccer clubs. Some of the soccer players came up to me and asked me where I was from. They were very surprised when I told them I was from Holland since most foreigners are usually American. It was fun to answer all the questions they had about Dutch soccer.

The gigantic Starbucks store overlooking the crossing is also one of the busiest in the world. On the northwest side of Shibuya station, there is a popular meeting place with a statue of Hachiko, while on the northeast side of Shibuya station there is another popular meeting place with a statue called "Moyai". The statue resembles a Moai statue, and it was given to Shibuya by the people of Niijima Island in 1980.

The highlight of the day was definitely the Shibuya 109 department store building which is the hotspot for many girls to buy the latest hot fashion. The most impressive store was Liz Lisa, gorgeous girls are working here and luckily they helped me locate Atom Nightclub which was around the block. I went to the top floor for some lunch at a Korean restaurant, supposedly many Japanese people love Korean food due to its healthy ingredients.

This was the first time I ever tried Bibimbop & Bulgogi on recommendation by the girls that were sitting at the table next to me.

Haarlem

Shopping with my sister in one of the most popular cities in Holland.

Shopping with my sister in the great city of Haarlem nearby Amsterdam. Haarlem has one of the best shopping streets in the Netherlands.

Haarlem has a rich history dating back to pre-medieval times, as it lies on a thin strip of land above sea level known as the strandwal (beach ridge), which connects Leiden to Alkmaar. The people on this narrow strip of land struggled against the waters of the North Sea from the west, and the waters of the IJ and the Haarlem Lake from the east. Haarlem was able to become wealthy with toll revenues that it collected from ships and travellers moving on this busy North-South route. However, as shipping became increasingly important economically, the city of Amsterdam became the main Dutch city of North Holland during the Dutch Golden Age. The town of Halfweg became a suburb, and Haarlem became a quiet bedroom community, and for this reason, Haarlem still has many of its central medieval buildings intact. Today many of them are on the Dutch Heritage register known as Rijksmonuments. The list of Rijksmonuments in Haarlem gives an overview of these per neighborhood, with the majority in the old city center.

Shizuoka

My last stop on my way back to Tokyo during my 7 day cityhop.

My final stop on the way back to Tokyo. I was truly exhausted after my 7 day intense city hop adventure and only wanted to spend a few hours in Shizuoka. Shizuoka is a nice quite city between Nagoya and Tokyo. It is not as busy as Osaka or Tokyo but does deliver that pure Japanese cultural vibe. I tried some of their famous Udon dishes alongside a bowl of freshly chopped Tuna sashimi.

I also discovered another 109 shopping mall in the city center. Seems like 109 is setting up franchises, hopefully it will make its way to the Western world on day.
