My last day on the slopes in Austria was quite memorable. My brother and sister showed some incredible talent on the black diamond trails. I hope to be able to come back again to this incredible place.

We started off at the Gschwandfkopf which is one of the more popular ski/snowboard mountains in Seefeld, Tirol, Austria. I made a compilation of our days on the slopes. It was literally a 3 minute drive from our stay in Seefeld. I primarily stayed on the blue and red slopes. Black diamonds are a little to crazy for me.

We had some epic eats at the SportAlm which is a restaurant at the foot of the mountain. You could basically snowboard right to the bar and grab a beer, ideal. Also check the Rosshutte album, it is an even taller mountain in Seefeld we went to.

I drove to Seefeld in Tirol, Austria after visiting BMW Welt in Munich. Luckily I rented a GPS which made the road trip a lot more pleasant. My first impression was that of the German Autobahn drivers. Germans know cars like Dutch people know cheese.

I couldn't believe the speeds people were driving at. I was literally flooring my car to 180km/h and still I was kept being bypassed by luxurious Audi's, Mercedes' and BMW's which were going at least 220 km/h. It was beautiful seeing the flat land in Germany transition into the Alps of Austria gratually. The GPS guided me beautifully to Hausliebl were my mom, bro and sis were residing.

It was a great feeling seeing everybody again.

Time for some snowboarding, skiing and partying in Collingwood, Blue Mountain. Blue Mountain is a beautiful ski-resort north of Toronto. Its about a 2 hour drive depending on traffic. This was only my second time on the slopes so I remained on the bunny hill to safe myself from serious injuries. We had a sweet hotel room with 2 king size beds. At night time we went to a Coors Light event at the local club where we got pretty damn smashed. Afterwards we ended up at an after party at one of our client's cottage. Our friends popped a bottle of Cristal champagne to celebrate the event they had organized. We actually passed out there instead of in the hotel room we rented.

Blue Mountain

My first time on a snowboard was quite scary and invigorating.

My good friend Dan and I went to Blue Mountain for some intense snowboarding. It was my first time on a snowboard and it was night-time snowboarding which was quite scary. Snowboarding is hella dangerous if you don't know what your doing. You can go so fast in the blink of an eye so if you do not know how to break properly yet you may end up in a tree or down the hill in pieces. I borrowed my friend's board which was extremely well waxed thus making the chances of an accident only bigger. The worst thing is to 'catch an edge' while snowboarding, this means you cut a corner in a wrong spot and end up flying through the air and hurting yourself a lot.

After 2 years I decided it was time again to mount the slopes. We left on a early Saturday morning to by-pass traffic and possible line-ups at the rental places. It was a beautiful day for snowboarding & skiing, 2 of our crew members we're skiing and 2 we're snowboarding so it was a good combo.

Although I haven't been snowboarding for 2 years and I am reasonable on a board, my friends thought it was funny to start off on the double-black diamond, which is the hardest slope on the hill, which wasn't funny and is damn dangerous if you aren't experienced. Thus it took me an awful long time to get done, basically without even turning once. Just gracefully going down the hill seemed to be the safest option.

Throughout the day I managed to fall quite a lot which resulted in lots of pain in the days after but all-in-all it was a fantastic day at Blue Mountain in Collingwood, Canada.
