The Dutch started off the World Cup on a high note beating Spain to a pulp by 5-1 but as the tournament continued every match turned into a bigger emotional roller coaster after the other

The World Cup is one of my favorite events, since it is every 4 years it should be considered very unique, especially winning it.

Usually I am not really big into sports but with the WC there is so much at stake because most countries participate and it is the most viewed sport event worldwide.

The World Cup couldn't have started better for the Dutch, winning against the reigning world champion with 5 goals against 1. We took our revenge since we lost 1-0 in the previous World Cup finale of Spain.

After such a gigantic win there was no doubt the Dutch were going to do well. To me, it didn't matter; taking sweet revenge was the best gift you could give a Dutch man.

But the force of the Dutch kept continuing, making it again to semi-finales but unfortunately losing this time to Argentina. They were an admirable foe.

The most mesmerizing thing was the match Germany VS Brazil which Brazil lost 7 to 1. No one say that one coming and brought shockwave through the world of soccer.

Another highlight was our goalie Tim Krul which was put on the field just before the penalty shootout. Tim is the Dutch penalty killer. It was unfortunate that we wasted all our substitutions prior to the penalties so we couldn't put Tim on during the Argentina match.
